This page features my personal reviews about the hotel/resort I stayed during my travel/trip.

VILLA DE ORO RESORT
Loft de luxe room of Villa de Oro
Balcony of Villa de Oro

Address: Station 2 of Boracay Island
Date of my Travel: July 2-5, 2013
Rate of room per night: Loft house is around Php7,500.00 good for 7 persons

Facilities/Amenities:

  • Veranda Cottages
  • Banquet Hall
  • Mongorial Grill and Garden Cafe
  • Television
  • Studio flats
  • Bar and lounge areas
  • Sports bar
  • Billard hall
What's good thing about Villa de Oro:
  1. Comfortable rooms
  2. Along the beach line
  3. Nearest to party junctions, boutiques and malls
Bad thing:
  1. No free wifi
My overall recommendation: I strongly recommend this resort for people who are visiting Boracay. Very nice accommodation, comfortable and quiet. You will enjoy your privacy. It is also along the beachfront and accessible to souvenir's shops.

Derived from the Spanish words "Village of Gold", Villa de Oro is truly your "piece of gold" at Boracay when it comes to an ideal place to stay. It is located along the beach front of station 2 just beside La Carmela. It has four types of rooms: Standard, Veranda cottage, Loft de luxe and Family room. We stayed in the Loft de luxe which can accommodate up to seven persons. It is fully air-conditioned with bath/comfort room, television and a balcony, this type of room follows a countryside theme. It has freebies like toiletries.

Our accommodation included free breakfast and dinner. The breakfast has two kinds: Filipino and American starters, dinner is composed of Mongolian buffet where visitors can select their meal among the fresh ingredients displayed in the bar. After choosing ingredients and selections of toppings bring it to the chef who is located just beside the bar, the chef will cook the food for you.

DELTA HOTEL
This is the room we occupied during our Hongkong travel.
Good for four persons. Two persons will share one bed.

Address: 16th Floor, Chungking Mansion, Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hongkong
Date of my Travel: June 1-5, 2013
Rate of room per night: $HK 118.00
Type of Hotel: This is a transient-type accommodation. So don't expect for anything like the hotel feel. In fact it is located with in Chungking Mansion with many vendors scattered on the ground floor.

Amenities:

  • Free wifi
  • Free storing of foods in the refrigerator located just outside of the rooms.
  • There's a water despenser posted outside where visitors can get cold and hot water.
  • Has both air-condition and electric fan
  • Telephone
Landmarks/Establishments around the area:
  • Shopping malls
  • Avenue of Stars
  • Victoria Harbour
  • Hongkong Museum of Arts
  • Souvenir's Stalls and Restaurants
  • MTR and Bus stations are just across the hotel.
My overall recommendation: If you are traveling under a tight budget, choose Delta Hotel, you can save a lot from your hotel accommodation. It is comfortable for resting.

Good thing about Delta:
  • Cheap rate
  • Clean room
  • You can save a lot from your travel
  • Accommodating staff
  • Has 24-hour CCTV camera
  • Fully secured
  • Closer to MTR and Bus stations, shopping malls and restaurants
Bad things about Delta:
  • Located at the top floors (13th and 16th)
  • Elevators are crowded.
  • The ground floor is quite messy with lots of vendors.
  • Very small bathroom (but remember that this is a transient type so all the areas: room, bathroom, passage--are small in sizes)
